I suppose there must be many organisations snowed under like CAB.

I know from experience that there will be many individuals who would love to fight your battle. The difficulty is in finding one who may be willing to assist even though technically you are not in their normal client group. They may stretch a point or bend a rule in order to do so.

Potential resources may be on this list.

Your MP may be the best bet right now. When gov departments get an MP's enquiry a manager or two drops everything to get to the bottom of it. Quite often someone is put exclusively on it.

Completely unrelated issue but in DWP I was paid overtime for the Saturday needed to sort something out in one such case.

To be honest there is a pretty good chance that the local CAB will know of/have a list of other organisations who may be able to help

While I understand that there are short term issues I still believe ongoing contact with CAB would be the best long term solution. It would be useful to know why CAB wanted the OP to ring DWP herself

You say you've got no income other than CTC and PIP, what is your partner doing with his salary? What about the income from the property you let out? You are a family unit, your finances are considered to be joint.

It does feel like we're not getting the full story here.

Income from property we let out? No we rent our current home we don't let it out? We live here, I think you have misunderstood something somewhere.

My partner and I have not been together very long, but already I am forced to live off his wage and with the other outgoings, plus needing a carer, childcare, taxis shortly - it isn't sustainable on his wage sadly with the things he is already committed to (care home for his father for example).

they say you cant buy love. But obviously you can and it costs £139.75 a week.

    What is £139.75 a week?

Unfortunately love does not mean you can afford to live together, quite frankly the system is made is such a defunct way that it literally impossible for us to live together and be able to afford the support I need and have received for over 15 years. I am not going to be selfish enough to put him and the children through such a situation out of love.

The full story appears to be that the OP is suffering because something was not done but one of those somethings was actually done by an officer of the department involved.

The OP has clearly mentioned about the partner's situation. There may be other aspects which are really nobody's business but her own but they are really nothing to do with the subject of the query and that line of questioning really doesn't help.

Thank you for being so considerate, this is a very difficult time for me and my family and I appreciate you considering this in your post

It would appear you have been busy deleting your posts re letting out your home, unfortunately you cannot delete others posts who have copied your original post.

Our mortgage is only £140 a month due to almost entirely paying in cash, so it is VERY small as you can see. It will be a source of income as we are renting it out....

If you had read the earlier posts here instead of old posts on this account, you would see that post was not made by me, but my friend looking for advice - I am not married or pregnant (as I explained earlier and thereafter deleted the post to avoid further confusion) I also don't have a neighbour within 5 miles, so the second post about driveways also was my friend.... However if it helps you to justify being judgemental to someone currently going through a very testing time in their life, by all means don't believe a word I've written and continue to be horrible! It makes absolutely no difference to my situation!
  • You should also be getting 2000 from motability when you return your car.

Yes, I have to give this back if I order another car though, which I am hoping I will be able to do very soon!
