I have a 3rd bedroom that I want plastering, 4 walls and ceiling
2 large walls + 1 wall with internal door and 1 with large window + ceiling
2 days work + materials = £270.00
Had another quote from other plasterer at same and another at £350!
I think that's fair but wanted opinions for reassurance.
Thanks

Cheaper than just my plasterer's labour.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

You don't say where you are or how big the room is but £270 is cheap IMO. I would say £350-450 to skim a whole averaged size room (around 3x4m) would be about right, in the south east at least.
Is it a box room? Are you up north?0 -
Seems cheap to me. I assume this is just for skimming. I'm in Cardiff and I'd have expected to pay maybe £350-£450 as above.
Obviously this depends on room size - my old 3rd bedroom was a small single, my new 3rd bedroom is a good sized double with an awkward-shaped lobby area so I'd expect to pay more, say upwards of £500.0 -

yes this is a 4m x 2m room. Has the old style water tank housed in at the corner so had a slight square return to deal with but your usual bog standard 4 walled bedroom0 -
and also, this is for the skimming on top of existing walls, no boarding0

Still seems cheap to me. Do you know the plasterer? Do you have any recommendations? Price isn't everything and if the cheapest guy is decent, then go for it.0

As a guide £150-£175 a day for plasterer is what I work to.Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0

Hi, we move threads if we think they’ll get more help elsewhere (please read the forum rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.
I’ve moved your thread from the ‘In my home’ board to the ‘Is This Quote Fair?’ board, where it is better suited.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j :cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Give blood, save a life. 0 -
Yep, I'm in agreement with others, sounds very cheap. I'm in the North and getting a similar sized room done exactly the same as yours for £370.
My other larger rooms are getting done for around £450 each.0
