Hi all managed to break a bit of plasterboard and need to fill hole should I just use some filler and back it out and then add second layer to finish? It is only about the size of 2 50 pence pieces
I will add a picture but can't but one on here so will have to upload and add link

Yes, ordinary filler will do the job. You may want to fill the hole first with a bit of scrunched-up newspaper if it's deep, to give the filler something to hold on to. But if it's not too deep then just filler will do.
Do it in two stages - fill the bulk of the hole first, let the filler harden, then apply a second coat leaving it slightly proud of the surface. When it's completely set ( leave it overnight ), sand it flat and Bob's your uncle.0
