Problem Getting Pictures off Nokia 6230i Phone - help please

Hi folks.

Hubby transferred some pics from the Image file on his Nokia 6230i phone to the MMC file. He then removed MMC card and I put it into the MMC slot on my comp. I uploaded files (in jpeg format) and tried to open same. System recognised pictures were there, but when I tried to view , it kept giving me messages such as file corruptable or unreadable. Any thoughts on how to overcome? There was a CD with the phone that included various software and I tried loading it, but it could only then be used if you bought an accessory to connect phone to comp (which he doesn't have). Didn't think it would be essential anyhow, as I could place MMC direct into computer.

I am fairly familiar with transferring potos etc to comp as I do quite a bit of photography. I use CF cards or link my camera direct to comp, and haven't had problems with same. Have never used MMC card before but didn't anticipate problem as card reader was suitable. Tried a few different photograph programmes to view in to no avail.

Help would be appreciated.

If you can still see the pictures via the mobile telephone, you can the Nokia Suite software in conjunction with a cheap bluetooth dongle(as little as £3) or the more expensive connecting lead. If you live in London and aren't too far away, you can have one of my Bluetooth dongles.
  • Thanks for reply. Yes, pictures can still be viewed on phone. Will try your suggestion (thanks too for offer, but we are in Northern Ireland).

I assume we wouldn't be able to use the MMC card to get pictures in shops with digital print facilities either then? is it because Nokia have some sort of restriction in the card that forces you to use their software?

My girlfriend has the same telephone. She is able to access her images via a card reader, so I'm not sure why you don't have access to your images.
But if they are visible on the telephone, then Bluetooth or a suitable cable will be fine.

Postage will possibly be the biggest cost with the Bluetooth dongle, as they are very cheap now(actually as little as £2).
  • Thanks again. Looks like it will have to be a dongle or cable. Yes, I too was surprised with problem accessing pictures via the card reader as it appears to upload fine. I can then see the .jpeg files in my computer, but just can't open same. Anyway, thanks for your suggestions.
