Yet to go on holiday and Thomson have cancelled my flights twice and reinstated them

Paid for flights in full according to the quote stated as we wanted a different hotel to what they offered. It's for the Dreamliner to Mexico in December - a dream holiday and once in a lifetime for us.

A few days later Thomson email me to say I owe £20. I ring the call centre (overseas of course) to ask why I suddenly owe £20 - he just goes 'yes ma'am you owe £20 please pay it.' So I do even though it wasn't the price originally quoted because I can't be bothered with the headache. That was Thursday.
Today I get an email out of the blue saying my flight has been cancelled because I didn't pay the amount! I call them and this woman just goes 'sorry ma'am your flight has been cancelled, there is no explanation!' I request her supervisor. Cue the 10 minute hold. She then comes back and says she's sorry for the mistake as there's been a technical error and I'll get it rebooked immediately (so she was basically just making it up in the first place). I take her name and put the phone down.
I then get my email confirmation saying flights have been booked and that I owe the original amount again but £200 more this time. I check my bank balance - they've charged me DOUBLE the price of the flights on two separate occasions. Back on phone. No answer. Email confirmation comes through again saying I've been refunded the extra what I paid and it's now all booked. Don't know what to believe - oh and that extra random £20 I paid still applies.
An hour later ANOTHER cancellation email. I eventually get through to someone in the call centre. He's very unpleasant and says my booking is now under another reference number and he'll send me a confirmation email. He even had the audacity to ask me to upgrade to premium club at an extra £600.
I'm still waiting on that email 3 hours later. I logged into my account using the new reference number and it turns out I now owe them the full amount again but then 200 quid extra. I am fuming. I've received no refund into my bank account for the other transaction.

Emailed their care team and awaiting a response. Don't know how a well established travel company can treat people like this.

Did you book this in a Thomson travel agent,s shop? if so go back and ask them to sort it out.If you booked on line then they will blame the computor and hopefully sort it out eventually.
  • If I get the runaround with so called Customer Service Agents and their Managers and get no decent response I escalate to the highest level usually the CEO or MD, in Thomson Holidays case try: david.burling@thomson.co.uk who is the Managing Director, you may get one of his flunkeys but invariably some one senior should get on the case.
