Design a Football Programme

Hi guys
I've been asked to design a football programme for my local football team. I did it in MS Word and it comes out fine except it automatically prints a border around it (2 sheets per page) even though no border is specified.
I am thinking of using some DTP software but need something that is easy to learn/use etc.
Any suggestions ?
