Moss on roof

I cleared a roof after heavy weather washed moss down a downpioe and blocked a drain. It took a couple of hours with a stiff brush and filled a large trug. Since then no debris down the downpipes and no other works needed. Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0

Thanks everyone for your advice. It's interesting, I had someone from Go-revive give me a quote. Started at over 4K and went down to just over 2k!!!!! How can they justify this price? I also had someone quote me £150 for removal of moss, clear gutters and clean the Windows. Any tiles that needed to be replaced would be extra. I thought that was pretty reasonable but still considering it.0

Obviously I'm going to get a variety of quotes but was hoping someone could give me a rough idea on what the cost might be to remove moss from a roof and then coat the roof to prevent regrowth?
Have a read of this info, this product is the most effective at killing moss and moss spores https://effectivemosskiller.com/how-to-kill-moss-on-roofs-naturally-using-sodium-percarbonate/0 -

Many companies will pressure wash roofs, this really is counter productive, as moss spores are carried by water!
There is quite an interesting read here:

And depending on the type of tiles you have and the pressure used, pressure washing could damage the roof.0 -
Moss doesn't cause any harm to the roof at all. At worst it falls off and blocks the gutters or makes a mess on the ground below.
As a contractor who cleaned roofs with 6 teams on government buildings, railway stations and domestics I once did a bungalow in Ashton in Makerfield.
We had to hire a skip, and on removal asked the driver to let us know the weight out of interest. (they had their own weighbridge).
2.2 tons on a 112 mtrs roof.
Other interesting stuff.
Powerwashing a roof does no harm to the roof or tiles. Scraping moss off is like cutting your lawn..... you ain't killing it just trimming it.
NASA found moss spores growing on the returning shuttle undercarrage after 18 days in space. Tough stuff.
Concrete tiles have a lifespan of 35-45 years (Marley quote on their website).
Rosemary Tiles (Clay) become porous 60 years in) and should not be coated as it doesn't stick well.
Roof Coating with water based acrylic coloured paint is not an insulator, (nano technology spheres in the paint are designed to keep heat out not in ). It does not stop moss returning (as sap coats the paint and moss grows on the sap). It does not need to cost £25 sq mtrs the coating costs around £200 in materials for a 100 mtrs roof. 2 coats is 2 separate coats after drying, not 2 at the same time.
It works and looks good for 5-7 years. but should not be done under 5 degrees.0 -
I then googled more widely and found some more "official" type information from roofing firms stating just how bad an idea it is for those concrete tile type roofs and causes them to last a lot shorter time .......
Why would a roofer advocate a method that would not put money in his pocket....... I have never met a pub landlord that told me drinking was not a good idea !!!!! Just Sayin0
