Smart Parking PCN

Hi,

I received a PCN charge through the post from Smart Parking, whilst at a retail park in Darlington.

Car was there for 20 mins, because the store visited didn't have in stock item required so went to another branch to purchase.

It wasn't me, the keeper, driving the vehicle.

I have received the PCN letter, showing the number place of my car with the entry and exit times - 20 mins and 1 second apart, this was issued on 1 Sept.

I issued an appeal yesterday, by using the template on the newbies thread. I haven't added any other info, or attached any evidence - can someone just confirm that is OK?

    Yes that's fine.

At POPLA stage you will easily beat Smart, as long as the driver has not been identified, because (due to their wording on the Notice to Keeper/Owner) Smart Parking can't hold a keeper appellant liable.

Search 'Smart POPLA' and you will find good examples of winning POPLA appeals and you will see it works!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hi Mrs Mervyn.

Just checking that you submitted your challenge to Smart online?

It's possible that once Smart see the MSE template letter, they might cancel at the first stage rather than bothering to go to POPLA.
  • Thanks both!

Yes submitted the template via the online appeal submit section on the Smart website 😊
  • Hi,

Just to update had an email through today to advise the parking charge notice has been cancelled at appeal!

    Many thanks MSE!!!! X

    well done ..... :j

would you now please concider supporting this campaign ....

This is a campaign of asking people to keep sending Theresa May actual hard copies of the trash they've been deluged with. Let her advisers' desks overflow with annoying paperwork re PPCs.

No emails, all letters from genuine people pouring their hearts out. Write to your MP as well as Mrs May:

    https://bmpa.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/211923909-Why-not-write-to-your-MP

The more the better, write it yourself if you are able and enclose copies of the threatograms and rubbish thrown at you.

Do not do this by email - make your paperwork land with a thump on desks, just like it all landed in a very unwelcome way on your doormat.

Apparently the DCLG are looking to make an announcement before the year end so let's make MP's and Mrs May aware that action needs to be strong. You can be sure that the BPA and IPC suits are lobbying Parliament and meeting their friends in suits.

So let the consumers' voices be heard.

    thanks

    Ralph:cool:
