"Right In Common" - My Rights?

Hi,
wondering if anyone could help with an explaination on this term.
I have a "right in common" to an area outside my home that is shared equally with a neighbour.
This area is used to park cars in, basically a shared driveway in my opinion, but the layout of a wall gives the impression that it is a communal parking bay.
My understanding, is that i have shared access to this area along with my neighbour & my neighbour only. Similar to my "right in common" to the estate i live in that i share with all residents that allows me to get in & out of my estate.
My question is, what rights do i have to the wall that seperates my garden & this parking area?
My plan documents state that if any damage etc occurs to the area then repairs should be split equally between my neighbour & myself. There is no mention of a dividing "wall" or "boundary/barrier".
I would like to take a portion of the wall, that is on my garden side, away to allow access to my garden through the car park area for my car.
This would allow me to store my car closer to my house & also allow room for my 2nd car that we have just bought.
I want to try & take away the look of it being a "communal parking area" as there has been times when i have returned home to find either visitors cars or works vans in the space when, in my eyes it is technically private property.
