Should I question estate agent?

In august we offered on a house that was accepted.
Appointed a broker and solicitors.
4 weeks from offer we had a call from the agents saying the vendors had pulled out as they had a change of mind.
We wrote the vendors a nice letter to say that we loved their house and should they change their mind and decide to sell that we would be pleased to hear from them.
A week later we received a card back from the vendors explaining that the estate agents had told the vendors to get a move on with finding a property and told them that we had started to view other properties (we had not). This made the vendors feel like we were in a rush and didnt want to be rushed so pulled out.
We werent in a rush. We have no chain and have a place to live for as long as we need.
I dont understand the reason behind the agents comments as its potentially lead to them losing a sale rather than pushing one through.
We are now looking again and the same agent seems to monopolise the area so we don't seem to have much luck other than viewing properties through them.
Should we say anything about this? Im sure the agents will deny all knowledge of it anyway

Most of what I would say about estate agents would be masked by the profanity filter.
Don't bother; save your breath. Surely if there was no rush, the vendor would be happy to sell to you? It's also possible that the vendor is lying.0 -
You are not in a rush.
The vendors are looking for a property.
Why do you and the vendors not simply agree a price on the understanding that the timescale will be dictated by them finding somewhere.
Bypass the agent who appears to be sowing confusion and misinformation.0
