Does the attendance allowance stop if you go into hospital?

Mum, aged 91 has been in hospital for a number of weeks now and will shortly be going into a care home. As well as her state pension she has an attendance allowance as she is so frail. Can anyone tell me if either of these will stop now while she's in hospital or later, when she goes into a home? She will be self funding for a couple of months and will then apply to the local authority to pay her care home fees. Dad aged 90 is still alive and living in the family home, if this makes any difference.

Do make sure you let them know to cancel the AA claim as it will be claimed back.

Although the responses their agree that AA stops after 4 weeks in hospital, there is some suggestion that it can continue to be paid when in a care home if the person is self funding

Yes. That's right. There is information in the second link I posted about that
