Unless you don't have a boiler an immersion is a back up only in case your boiler breaks down as it costs way more than gas to heat your waterI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

Or if the boiler is in a bedroom, when you heat up the water on a sweltering day, that bedroom is like a sauna and far to hot to get to sleep that night. Brilliant for the rest of the year.
Anyway, I knew there's something wrong with the immersion heater. But unsure why there was a loud buzzing noise coming from the hot water cylinder when I put the heating plug on.0 -
Then put some lagging around the pipes from the boiler so the heat doesn't go into the room, electric immersion, unlagged pipes you really do need to change your nicknameI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

There is but it still gets hot in the room. And I only picked this username because back in 2013 I saw a tv show which had penny pincher in its title. The show then led me to this site. It's only a name.0 -

I'm not very good with electrics and plumbing (if you haven't guess already) I put the plug on to heat the house and/or water in the hot water cylinder. I've asked around and everyone is calling it the heating plug so I'm not sure how else to describe it.
The plug is orange. I have no idea if the colour matters lol!0 -
are you talking about switching on water heating from a gas heated boiler or not.
what's buzzing, and where does the wire (connected to the plug that you are switching on) go
