Paying with two credit cards

I'm about to pay for some car repairs and would like to split the payment across two credit cards. But if I later want to make a Section 75 claim, will this make it more complicated? For instance, will each credit card company say "sorry mate, go to the other one for your refund"? What should I do if they do this?

If the repairer breaches the contract you will have the choice...
Claim from the repairer
Claim from CC company 1,
or Claim from CC company 2
They would be jointly and severally liable - so you can choose.0 -
I think that as long as 100 pounds or more is on a single card you are covered for the full balance0

To be precise: Provided the item price is more than £100* then you are covered for your losses in the case of breach of contract or misrepresentation - an amount that could exceed the full purchase price.
(*item price is the key. If you bought 1000 widgets for £1 each and paid the whole £1000 on your CC, then no cover. If you bought a single widget for £1000, paying just £1 on your CC, then you've covered. Weird, innit?)0
