Sorry in advance if this is on the wrong board. Ok my parents booked a holiday a few weeks ago and silly i know but didn't take out any travel insuranse. My dad is now too ill to travel he has got to go for some tests as he may have bowel cancer. So now they can't go on the holiday ; they were due to go 3rd oct. I have phoned the company they booked with and was told there was nothing they could do other than change the travel times and accommodation which is no use as they would still have to travel on this date. As it is they stand to lose the holiday and the travel company gain the holiday back and the money that was paid for it. Has anyone got any suggestions please.

Not really - even if they had travel insurance it may not have paid out under a pre-existing conditions clause.
They could try selling the holiday if the company allows it - but even that may be expensive at this late stage.0 -
It might be worth asking the holiday company if they can change the names on it-for a charge or moving to later dates.
Unfortunately they are locked into a contract and it's a great shame they didn't sort out insurance at the time-it's an expensive mistake.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
if they booked with a credit card check with the credit card company.
I know if I book with my visa and pay for a holiday that's atleast 50% paid for with it i get free travel insurance. I don't know if it will work in your case but it's worth a shot!
