Attaching mirror fixings...help required!

Yesterday, I bought a large mirror from The Range to fit above my fireplace, £20 a bargain! The only downside is it didn't come with any fittings. The gentleman in the shop provided me with some "keyhole fixings" to fit onto the mirror. I am unsure where these go and how many I need on the mirror. He has suggested one on either side, but as the mirror is 100cm x 70cm (fitting it landscape), I was querying if I needed to use more. Also, do they go in the centre of the frame on the left and right, or do they need to go at the top?
I understand that I need to drill the wall and put in the wall plug and screw protruding slightly in order to hang the mirror, its the mirror bit thats confusing me!
TIA
