I've won virtually nothing this year - a couple of really small prizes, but have done well over the 8 years I've been comping and just enjoy it. If I win, it's a bonus ... :)
    Wins since 2009 = £17,600

    MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS

Always amazes me how people are willing to criticise time spent Comping which offers a chance of return yet are willing to spend a couple of hours a night watching rubbish on tv.

If you enjoy Comping and enjoy trying to be creative for photo comps then keep doing it. It's your free time nobody else's.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx
  • I agree, treat it as a hobby when you've got some free time. I only started just before xmas and have had a few small wins. I haven't done it consistently but I'm sure the next big win is around the corner!

Also, I have two children so the effort comps are great for the summer holidays. They can get their crafting heads on which they really enjoy. My daughter has recently won a family ticket to Harry Potter world so bonus for us all! :).

Just dont tell anyone you are comping and that will solve it!
Wins so far:[/B] Puffin Book bundle, £20 Ed's Easy Diner gift Card X 2, Harry Potter World family ticket, Thorntons chocolate bundle, Primary Times book & a weekend spa break to Cornwall for two, Wubble ball & Refillable balloons

The truth is more and more people now enter competitions because it's so much easier to do now. I'd have a guess that 7 out of 10 of every competitions can be entered online.
Does that put me off? Heck no. I am unable to work due to poor health and the times when I feel up to it I enter competitions. If I don't win so what I'll just try again.
Ignore what others say as soon as you win something amazing they'll be praising you. I won £2000 this year from a local radio station. They must have over 100,000 listeners of course not every one of them entered the competition but I won.
We're currently having our bedroom decorated for the first time in nearly 20 years. When it's completed I'll look and think every time I entered a competition and win was worth it.
Keep going it'll be worth it.
  • Hi Buddy. My advice would be, don’t work hard, work smart. Don’t just RT or L&S, look out for prizes that you love and comps where you need to put in a little effort. Try and disregard all the rest for now.
Think of it as a bit of fun. I do not win big stuff either but I enjoy the challenge. Good luck my friend.

Really good point. I used to comp an hour or so a day and at work people thought I was mad but hey might spend a couple of hours watching soaps/big brother stuff etc. (Their choice just not my cup of tea).

Do what you enjoy whatever that might be
  • Thanks everyone :) Definitely not giving it up, just going to not bother with facebook and twitter comps. IF it wasn't against FB rules I'd have made a separate account just for comping.

Creative comps are my favourite to enter but I struggle to find many. I'm gonna focus my comping time on those mostly.

I had a Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit just appear with no note of where it came from and I haven't ordered anything, so I'm assuming it's a win so I'm VERY happy with that :D
