How far back

Hi there,
Is there a deadline on how far you can go back on claims? I know that I had a car loan back in '92 where I did have PPI. I'm pretty sure it was with Blackhorse Finance but I can't guarantee it. I would have then had car loans about every 2 years from then onwards until 2007. Only main 3 I can remember is Citroen Finance, Renault Finance and BMW finance, although 2 other cars I can't remember.
Unfortunately none of them show up on my Noddle or Clearscore reports but would have been through Lloyds and not sure if they would tell me.

Actually looking through posts here it seems as though I don't necessarily need to know the finance companies as car loans are done through the dealer so I only need to know the dealer? Would the money then (if eligible) be paid from the dealer?0

Usually it is as far as records can show. There are some PPI sales that are affected by the regulation date (Jan 2005). Such as car dealers. They dont have to consider complaints about sales made prior to then.Would the money then (if eligible) be paid from the dealer?
You complain to the dealer and the dealer considers the complaint. Some tied dealers will be agents of the lender and therefore insurer and the lender will take the liability but in those cases, the dealer will pass the complaint to them.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). ok so do you think it's worth chasing some from '94/'95/'96'97/'99/'010

If they were with car dealers, then they are all pre-regulation. So, no. Unless it was the branded finance of the car manufacturer.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). 3 were manufacturer dealers, with 1 directly from Citroen finance, 1 from Renault finance and 1 from BMW finance. Other 2 were just your everyday dealer using blackhorse. I do know however that the first one with blackhorse that I did have PPI. The others I can't remember0
