    Helpful? No.

    So the infection can be safely carried over to the backup. Nice.

    Factual: Yes

    Gets you out of a HDD/SSD failure: Yes

    Infection: You can recover your data files from the back up, beware cyptoware and other more sophisticated nasties. There is no such thing as any single perfect security solution.

    The more Kernel hooks, the more likely a BSOD especially if MS change something with a security update.

    What do you think happens at enterprise level ?

    Get a proper virtualiser and not a toy one that you can fully lock down with reversion and back up if you really want better grade security.
