My laptop updated itself last week - as others have commented it takes ages, almost 3 hours. And it isn't the end when it finally gets to the login screen - it still takes quite a bit longer to update settings etc when you first login after the update.

I don't often use IE, but I managed to find it by typing 'internet explorer' in the Cortana box (where it says 'Ask me anything'). I couldn't find it on the list of apps from the start button.

Mine updated from Windows 10 to this new version and it's playing up big time, really hates this site!! So, I went to settings and clicked a few buttons, half hour later I'm back to normal Windows 10, think it was Settings/update/then another button that's not there now so I can't tell you what it says.

I have also checked in the App store and it is no longer available.

I have found out there are 3 versions of windows 10 depending on when you first downloaded it. and they have all got different dates for updates. this might be why some still have IE working.

It would be great but the IE software has been removed and nothing happens when you click on open with internet explorer.

Just tried to download IE and got this 'Internet Explorer is not compatible with your system'.

  • took an hour and a half on laptop, felt like for ever. It disabled "Classic Shell" so I downloaded updated version and ran it again and it works. Everything else looks OK, I disable Cortana too, why would I want to be told what I have to do all the time ?? Win7 was ideal for me if they would just keep supporting it.
