it would be sensible to make sure we understand which banks operate under licence from other operations - thus possibly limiting the guarantee should you hold money in both.
it seems that Birmingham Midshires operate under the Halifax licence.
my brief research hasnt found others - it looks like Sainsburys has its own licence - have asked them to confirm.
could anyone who knows of others please let us know
