Have been reading ever day as always but only manage to post at week ends ( my phone not the best to type long messages and keep losing the signal on the train)
Very busy week at work as we have been a couple down but on Friday I decided I couldn't stand the mess on my desk anymore, manage to clear 3 bags of rubbish and desk is the clearest since we moved offices last year ( it was only clear then because everything was in boxes lol)

Hugs to all who are poorly or sad and their families that need them.

Hilstep I love one of your memories being in Eastbourne. When ill a few years ago I found a walk along the front so very therapeutic, still enjoy now when time allows.

DH got back from nights on Friday morning full of cough and cold so has been dosing up since. He is hosting a golf day tomorrow so need to be fit for that. Apparently one of my jobs today is to pick the teams (names out of a hat) and prepare the score cards... oh the joy

I finally started using an old app on my phone this week, have noted everything I have in cupboards, fridge and freezers and then used t to do my shop yesterday.
Like Jackie I have prepared my menu plan for the week, including lunches for work.

We are eating out on Friday as its our wedding anniversary, hoping hubby will remember. We married on the last day of the month for that precise reason. Not a first marriage for either of us but we have managed to stay the course after a blip.

Well just re-reading my post looks like I'm trying to start a novel.
Hope everyone has a good week.

    Hugs

Tru, sorry about your cottage. We stayed in some fantastic places on the way to and from Italy, apart from in Cologne on the way back. Let me just say the photos on the website totally misrepresented it. The owner wanted paying up front but we said we wanted to see the room, having been warned by the horrible bar/reception area. Needless to say we refused to stay and are now trying to get back the cost of one night's stay taken from our credit card. We ended up ata Radisson which turned out to be cheaper than the horrible one (further from the city centre). We decided to cut our losses and not stay the extra night we had planned to.

Morning, thanks for the thread Gers, glad you got home safely in the grotty weather and how nice to catch up with Camelot on the way xx My nearest posters are JackieO and carolbee - maybe one day I will pay them a visit lol!

I am taking DD to rugby training shortly - looks like rain :( They are doing scrum training today and as one of the safeguarding reps I have to be there. Roast chicken and apple crumble for dinner later. Really enjoyed Strictly and I'm team Greg :)

    Morning all,

Nice bright day here, I have stripped the bed and that's on the line and another load in the wm, dd and boyf are still in bed watching something on the tv, but I never realised that boys are so noisy :rotfl:I don't know if its cos they have deeper voices but they came in drunk late last night and were very loud ! He is a nice boy though and very polite.

Off to look at and test drive a new car today just been sitting here working our the finances, I have a large deposit to put down but will have to get a loan for the balance, Ive never had a loan (apart from mortgage) and don't like the idea of them but needs must, my poor old car wont last much longer and with my pay rise I can afford it but its still worrying me :o

Not sure about dinner but we have some burgers or chicken we can have, will see what the youngsters fancy.

Snoozer the wedding sounds beautiful I love Italy, so glad that your DH could go xx

Snoozer I'm so glad your DH was well enough to attend the wedding; it sounds fantastic, and something you'll remember forever!.

Tru OMG that sounds like a self-catering version of Fawlty Towers! It sounds as though Scampi is doing himself proud, though; what a good boy! Virtual gravy-bone treat for him! :D

I don't know if any of our other posters are in Concrete Cow Country; but then, if I'm honest, I'm not sure I'd have the courage for a meet-up. :o

Lamewolf, I'm only 30 miles away from MK but I understand if you don't want to meet.

Hilstep, sorry you're feeling so bad, hope it goes quickly.
  • Hello all, just read through and Hilstep I hope the antibiotics help xx
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • Afternoon, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

We went into town this morning, no parking fees on a Sunday so Morrison and Lidl with a side trip to The Card Factory for diaries for next year.

Bright but cold, we did have a shower at lunch time, did not last long really.I had put the bath towels out to dry off, mamanged to get them in before they got soaked again.

Yesterday afternoon we took ourselves out for afternoon tea. There is a small Hospice close to us which has a charity shop and Tea shop, so we had tea for two with cream scones and very nice it was too. I did not find any crystal this time, I have no where to put it anyway!!

OH is jig sawing, I am about to go and slice the gammon joint I cooked we are having it with veg and parsley sauce for supper. OH wanted banana so we will be having baked banana for dessert.
