Homeserve plumbing insurance v house insurance

I can't seem to work out whether the home serve plumbing insurance is any different to my house insurance (Hastings direct)

If they cover the same things then does it cost you more to have the homeserve policy.0

Home Emergency Cover is probably optional with your home insurance - you need to check if you have that option.
Home Emergency Cover is likely to have some similarities with Homeserve's plumbing cover.
(But from memory, Homeserve cover thing like dripping taps and dripping filler valves in toilets etc. Those types of things may not be covered by other Home Emergency Cover policies.)0
