Sewer Easement

Hi,
I have been approached by the developer adjacent to my site (where i am building a pair of semi - detached houses) asking if i would like to share cost of connecting to the main sewer in the road.
This would mean that i would connect into his manhole on his new build detached house then from his into the road.
I have mentioned about getting an easement drawn up, but he said that we could draft an agreement ourselves & there was no point of involving a solicitor.
I don't want to have any issues when it comes to selling the houses so any advice would be appreciated.

You should both save money, but involve a solicitor in writing the easement. I'm sure it's simple but it needs to be correct.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Red flag.
Without legal rep how are you going to inform the water company of your intention?
