How often should I get my car serviced?

Actually, water boils at a lower temp than brake fluid, so when it gets absorbed into the brake fluid it lowers the boiling point, it boils and then allows air bubble to form in the brake lines, which in turn drastically impairs braking performance.
Where does the air come from? Same place as in bottom of your kettle when boiling water.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

The other bad consequence of not changing brake fluid is corrosion within the hydraulics. I ran my MGA for over 20 years without changing the brake fluid and then started getting lots of problems with seized wheel cylinders. Eventually cured when I realised that I'd never thought to change the fluid. Got local garage to change all the cylinders including the master cylinder plus, of course, the fluid, and since then things have been fine. Been on the road for over 33 years now since rebuild.0
