Travel Insurance - Cancer

Hi

My wife had cancer 2 years ago - all clear - I am now trying to get an annual quote for her as we are going to St Lucia this year & the USA / Canada next year.

She has another condition that doesn't impact her in any way - before the cancer that condition did not impact cost of travel insurance in any way.

Now when I put the condition in on top of her cancer the price jumps from £300 annually to £900+.

Anyone know of any specialist cancer travel insurance companies out there or why the price is jumping so much?

Thanks Mark

Try Insurancewith. I've been using them since my own cancer diagnosis five years ago - they specialise in covering people with cancer (I think particularly breast cancer) and I've found them to be very much cheaper than other companies. I think there is another specialist insurer for people who have had cancer, perhaps you could search one of the forums from the main cancer charities (Macmillan , breast cancer care etc)

If the earlier condition is making the price jump from £300 to £900 surely that's the problem, not the cancer?

Wow - thanks for that - I managed to get an annual policy for just £100 -> £800 less than other sites!

    Thanks Mark

Indeed - but before she had the cancer it would have made any difference to travel insurance cost.

Anyway have used site someone else recommended.

I'm so pleased you were able to get a good price. I found similar price differences when I first started looking for travel insurance after my diagnosis.
