Mould and water softner

Had a water softner installed last August,
Main issue is mould growing in the cupboard storing the water softner and the outside pipes feeding it. The cupboard is open at night to let damp out.
Possibility is the water pipes feeding in and out producing condensation and hence accumulated damp, which is common especially under the sink I understand
Question is, is this a common problem and any tips on preventing this as current solution at the moment is to wipe it all every week.
Perhaps resting the pipes in a plastic bowel so the water collects there???

Plastic bowel? I hope not!
How about insulating the exposed pipes?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

The pipes including the waste pipe are plastic, at least from looking at it and touching it.
What would I insulate it with to stop condensation seeping through the insulating material?"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"
