  • Well at least I won't be going there! Will just have to try and convince the Mrs to just go there and see what it's like. I'm sure she would prefer that option compared to me taking someone else to fill the spot anyway!!

The husband eats there every few months and says the food is quite good. The decor gave my MIL a headache though when she went for afternoon tea. Not a hell of a lot to do round Beaconsfield, apart from the very dated model village.

As for the troll comment about my girlfriend being right, try being idiotically spontaneous for your lady some time, she might appreciate it. Or you could just stay a lonely single loser trolling the MSE forum.

You were more impulsive than spontaneous! Spontaneous would have been more about following through and actually staying at the hotel (after some consideration! Otherwise it is recklessness!). Impulsiveness is more about not thinking things through.

I will only say this, but there is a fairly good chance that your girlfriend here is more upset than happy with your "spontaneous" gesture :) It will be something forgotten like, no big deal, but that's probably the situation right now! Too many "idiotically spontaneous" gestures and she'll walk :) (unless you are filthy rich, but then what's the issue here? lol).

Take out your indignation on her, I was just agreeing with her conclusion.

Very true! To be fair it was recommended to me by a couple of female friends!!

They said it looks like a Game of Thrones brothel from the pictures but it's actually extremely nice when you get there. Plus the reviews in general are all very good.

As you say I'm not going to get the money back so might aswell just go there sometime in the next 9 months!

Well i think it looks fabulous ! If someone booked a nights stay there for me i would have been really pleased ! Lots of blokes i know would have been scared witless by the photos and opted for a travelodge ! Well done OP !

You booked a hotel, paid in full and then didn't go!. I really can't see how that would help any relationship :rotfl:

Accidently booking the hotel then actually changing any plans you had at the last minute so you both could go would have been more a far better treat for her!.

One must also consider the possibility that OP forgot, or didn't appreciate, that the girlfriend already had plans! Unfair asking her to change those plans, and a bit rubbish if you haven't took such things into consideration!

We shall never know what actually stopped OP from going, but it most certainly wasn't something "spontaneous"!
