  • Lovely day here today with a good breeze, finished all of the washing including the bedding and it is on the line blowing away :D

Had physio for my shoulder on Thursday and have to go back in a couple of weeks. Came back more painful than when she touched it, it is arthritis and torn ligaments and tendons and it is going to take a long time to get full movement back :(

Still not heard about my "emergency appointment",:mad: I should have seen the consultant last week :mad:

NSD today, we have been hit by some expected (Car insurance, yearly zoo fee, chimney sweep, boiler check and birthdays) a few largish unexpected bills and me spending too much in the sales at the garden centres and Wilko's :o have saved a lot in the long run and we can go to the zoo whenever we want all year so with a picnic it is a day out for nothing, then we have a lot of beautiful countryside and Tring museum that costs nothing to get in. But it leaves us a bit skint for the time being so we are having a real belt tighten in, luckily I have £457 in my trusty penny jar which will cover the car insurance £227 and £150 for boiler and chimney with a bit left over . I have all of the meat and some extras ready for Christmas and the majority of presents have been bought, even then I have told everyone that we are not going overboard this year.

I have factored in buying the pickling onions though for next week, I already have the vinegar and spices so not too bad (some will go as presents in hampers for outlaws and a couple for people who have really helped us out this year. I have also bought lots of Aldi's super six red onions (59p) to make some red onion marmalade and chutney.
Then I am making my Christmas cakes in October, but again I have all of the ingredients.

The plan is to eat out of the freezer, garden and cupboard store, up until the beginning of December to get our finances back on track, plus I want to pay extra off of the mortgage in November which will come out of the savings account, every little helps to finish it off a few years early and we are willing to go without a few luxuries to get rid of it ASAP.

Ruby you will love the woodburner when it is lit, it just makes everything so cosy :D we have a mulifuel stove so we can burn logs or coal and it warms the whole house up if I leave the sitting room door open and cuts the gas bills, I am currently £132 in credit with the gas company

    BFN xx

  • Kitchen and bathroom cleaned, two loads if washing done, a cake is cooking and I am having a sit down with a cup of tea.

My OH is yelling at people on the radio. They do not share his political orientation. Nor do I but he's given up yelling at me.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

I have finished assembling the two floor lamps to go upstairs, loaded dishwasher, filled the wheelie bin and torn up a load of cardboard boxes ready for recycling. I have also put away a load of stuff in my bedroom and got a laundry load washed and dried for middle dd.

I decided to try to vacuum the integral garage which is carpeted with lots of odds and ends that is rucked up and covered in plaster, dust and rubble. My poor Henry (and I ) am shattered and it will take quite a few goes to get looking better.

What about speaking books? Libraries have some cassettes or whatever of books if she used to be keen on reading.

It turns out most of the family are popping round at one o clock tomorrow so will make a large cottage pie and then do a frantic tidying and hoovering as well as a quick mop around.

    Hugs to all.

  • Autumn is here :D and so is the rain:(

Duvet changed for the intermediate tog. Energy supplier and insurance changed (£350 saved:eek::eek:) At least that will pay for heating half the village through the burglar flap (Ozzie dog flap:rotfl:)

We're not doing Christmas, so I have a bigger winter hoarding budget. :T. Need to do a complete audit. We h age just had the last of the apples in a crumble with some of this years blackberries. Don't think we are going to get many apples this year though.

Lots of soup already in the freezer. I'm planning to make LameWolfs carrot and orange cake tomorrow, and if we like it I'll put some packs in the freezer when I get a good offer.

Early night tonight. My last long run tomorrow before I race next weekend. Anyone near me - Glasgow city centre will be closed off most of next weekend for various races:D Mine is Sunday morning from George Sq. Not expecting any PB, but I WILL get round.
