Anywhere I can get a sky card?

Without paying £20. Tried Ebay but they either seem to go higher than £20 or the listing is removed?

Any ideas?

I am in very poor freeview area and a friend said I could get the freeview channels but through sky (I have a dish and lead at my home). I managed to get a skybox and can get most channels but not Channel 4 or 5, she said I can get these channels if I have a card. Apparantely I can get one from Sky for £20 but if I can save a few ££££ then great!

The only place to get one is from Sky, as far as I know.

  • I agree, unless you manage to find a second-hand one going on avforums or something (they are often called "yellow house" cards). Even then they go for £15 so you may as well cough up. With a second hand one you're never sure if they are active either - it's been said that they are only supposed to work for three years or something (although I can't remember the source of that or confirm that it's true).

Buy one from Sky, it's your safest bet, the ones on eBay may be cancelled or fakes. The reason eBay removes them is that it's illegal to sell fake cards.

    Cheapskate

    You've got 1.5 choices

1 - wait 12mths till Ch4's contact with sky finishes and they go FTA (no card needs)

    or

2 - pay sky £20 for a card validate till they change their cards (think they only guarentee 2yrs)
  • Cheapskate??!!! Thought this was a MONEYSAVING website.

Single mum to little toddler, I try and save as many pennies as possible. If I could save £10 on getting it, that'd buy nappies for 2 weeks or put food on the table for a week.

    Thanks for the insult.

Note the sarcasm of my original post

You won't get a card cheaper unless the card owner wants to break sky's terms and conditions.

You could ask on your local freecycle site

No, they get removed because they remain the property of Sky. The ones that do get sold, usually sell for MORE than £20 because the person buying is outside the UK and can't get one from Sky.
