Hi, I'm new to this forum so firstly would like to say hi.
In January I was assessed by a DWP nurse and allocated to the work related activity group. This past month I felt like I was ready to start working so i started applying for jobs. I recently went to an interview and was accepted for the job a few days later. I went for my first day at the job on Monday (19/9) which was induction day, I worked a 5 hour shift in total. The whole entire day was awful from start to finish and that evening I was full of anxiety, dread and worry. I couldn't pull myself together and decided I'm not ready yet. I informed the employer that the job is no longer required and was wondering if this will affect my ESA claim? I planned on informing the DWP if I decided to keep the job. Seen as I only worked for the first day of 5 hours, is there any reason to mention this? The employer have my National Insurance number so I'm wondering if this will somehow alert the DWP? Thanks for any replies.

in order to work whilst cl;aiming ESA, you have to gain permission for the employment BEFORE you start work.
you need to tell them that you did the 5 hours and depending on circumstances, may have the amount earn deducted from you benefit0
