Suspension sign lawful?

I received a dreaded fine for parking in a bay with a suspension board. The sign was not on my side of the road but opposite and appeared to be an A3 notice indicating no parking outside a specific property which did not relate to the bay I was in. After picking up a ticket, I later discovered that the one notice was in fact two stacked up on top of each other and referring to two separate properties. Is this presentation allowable? I have looked around the local area and on line and can only find examples of one notice per board.

If possible get piccies of the signs and their relation to where you were parked. Get a google street view of the site also. Also get copies of both sides of the pcn . You will need these, log in on pepipoo.com, council parking section.
This forum does not deal with council tickets wheras pepipoo does. Bear in mind, at this time pepipoo site is having hiccups so be patient until it comes back on.

I thought that signage had to be on the same side of the road?

(I'm prepared to be told I'm wring though...)

Logically you are right, why should a driver have to look on both sides of the road before parking. But knowing councils anything could happen.
