Parking tickets

Hi, parked at coach only parking by the cinema. Ran to buy a ticket and it took me 2min. Came back and go a Parking charge notice? Issued 14.15, my car seen 14.15. I know I shouldn't have parked there, but do I really have to pay £100 for that?

Presumably you mean that you ran and bought a cinema ticket (not a car park ticket) and during that period you were parked in a bay restricted to coaches.
Was this parking area on private land, or public road?
If private, start reading the Newbies pinned thread; and don't do anything else until you have started to understand the system of scamming and bullying. If public road, you may be in ***** , so try the PePiPoo forum instead of these.
I am no expert, but come back on here when you understand your situation, as there are some very helpful (but overworked) people on here.0 -
Yes, bought ticket for a cinema. It's a public car park by shopping centre. I know it's my fault parking there, just it seems a bit ridiculous.0

Yes but public car park run by council or private parking company?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Well yes...
'a bit ridiculous' is an understatement about this scam, which is what this entire forum is about if this is a private parking ticket (Council ones can also be appealed).
Read the NEWBIES FAQs thread about appealing this, depending on if it's a BPA or IPC member. Which PPC (acronyms are explained in the NEWBIES FAQS thread)?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It would definitely help to know whether this is council or private - both can be appealed successfully but we need to know which in order to give the appropriate advice.
As its close to a cinema could this be somewhere like Centretainment, Sheffield where we know PPC's enforce?
Let us know?
Iki pasimatymoMy very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0
