Bathroom Extractor & Tilling Advice.

Hi all

I was hoping someone could advise me about some extractor fans and tiling please? :)

We have two bathrooms to do
1. The ensuite is 2.5m x 1,5m and i'd like an inline fan put over the shower. Our plumber has suggested a Manrose MF100? Is this a good enough fan or is there another I should consider? I have also been looking at HIB turbo fan which has a better extraction rate.

2. The bathroom is 2.6 x 1.8m and will only have a bath. The plumber has suggested a vent axia bas100slb which will go straight through the outside wall. I have also been looking at the HIB Hush.

The main thing is id like decent fans that do the job but also have a low noise level.

with regards to the tiling we have been quoted £825 to tile approx. 7.5m2 on the walls and 4m2 on the floor. This does not include tiles but does include peci board, grouts, adhesive, trims etc. does this sound okay?

Thanks v much.

The Manrose is a sort of cheap clone of Vent-Axia ACM100T (timer) the vent axia will last years and ditto spares? The Manrose won’t neither will spares be as available as long ( inline access should be a consideration how easy etc)? Personally I’d go vent axia you get what you pay for?
Bathroom as above choose one with overrun timer e.g. BAS100SLT (but not humid sensor they go faulty a lot) Most HIB pretty crap look nice etc Although noise can annoy some you can soundproof around most inline ones and to get flow/reliability unfortunately you often get noise...

Tiling seams high it does depend on the amount of materials prep needed ? Sometimes paying a plumber to tile can mean plumbers or worse gas fitters rate:rotfl: I’d get more quotes and pics of there work… Seen plenty of terrible tiling .
  • thanks brighton traveller that's really helpful :) will look into the vent axia one you suggest.

maybe I wasn't clear but the tiling quote is from a dedicated tiler. My feeling is that it may be a bit pricey but I do know his work is great. I think you often get what you pay for but wanted to check it wasn't extortionate!

    Cheers again.
