Parking issue on my estate... horsebox?!

The people across the street from me have taken to parking a horsebox in one of their allocated spaces.

It's basically a converted white van- a Renault master. It fits in the space against their wall.

It's not exactly in the way but I'm not particularly happy with having a farm vehicle on a residential estate?

I've contacted estate management and checked my tenancy agreement, all we could argue about it on is that it is a commercial vehicle.

Estate management are sending a reminder not to park commercial vehicles on the estate, but my colleague says he's not convinced the horsebox will be counted as a commercial vehicle.

So does that mean we're stuck with it?

Advice please! TIA.

It's not commercial and it's not a farm vehicle either.
  • If it's not in the way and in their space, what exactly is the problem?

A Renault. How awful. Have a whip round and get them a Mercedes van. It will be much more in keeping.

Could be worse - they could just park the horse there :rotfl:
  • So I'm stuck with it?

What exactly is the problem with it? No-one so far can see what the issue is and why you are concerned?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • They may have 50 horses running amok within the estate and eating all the grass whilst pooing everywhere, I feel your pain and would also be up in arms about such a horrible situation. :)
  • Surely if it's your estate all you have to do is shout 'gerrroofff my laaand' very loudly?

If that fails then I am at a total loss as to what you can do to prevent one of your neighbours parking their vehicle in their parking space.

Be careful what you wish for.

The management conpany may bring in a private parking co to "manage" the parking, and then I promise you that you will all suffer.

If it's a converted van for transporting their own horse it's not a commercial vehicle it's a private vehicle.
If they are using it for a business to transport horses for profit it is.

As usual it looks like the estate management, like most, are sadly lacking in their managing of the finer points, but as catfunt says be careful how much stirring you do as you could regret it!
