Expired defaults

Hi there
My hubby and I have several defaults which are due to drop off our files over the next year.
The first one expires today and another one at the end of this month.
Can anyone tell me how long it takes before they disappear from our credit file and do we have to do anything to get them removed?

Once the six-year mark has been reached they should drop off automatically. No action is needed on your part.0

They drop off automatically as MEM62 says but I think it can sometimes take up to a month for your credit file to be updated.
