SPECKY what a wonderful gift from your Grandmother.
JACKIE O another family holiday to look forward to how exciting.
Had an emotional day my best friends oldest son is going to university this weekend...and he has high functioning Autism and he got accomodation on Tuesday. So his poor mum has been running round like a lunatic as she thought he'd have a few weeks to get him sorted. We took him food shopping today . I'm so proud of him it's such a massive thing. I got him a bag of stuff like a thermos cup, hot chocolate . Feel really teary.
However I've got to reapply for my Employment Support Allowance as my appeal was only valid for 2 years which ran out in August. That was my third appeal which I won. So more stress. Have got a doctor's appointment next week.
Busy weekend here. Daughter has a friend staying over night. Son going to Milton Keynes tomorrow till Sunday evening so will need getting to and from the station. At least pickled onions are done for another year.
Hugs to those who want / need them.0 -

Going to talk to my boss later and see if the doc wants to sign me off if he is ok with it could I do half days and rest in the afternoon. Hopefully both will agree...

Evening all,
Hester, any chance that you will be able to have some down time as well as OH?
TA......enjoy the wedding.
Threatening to rain all day here, hasnt happened yet, very dark so I expect it will happen soon.
Speky.......glad that you took the money from your gran.......I have saved money for each of my grandchildren since they were born, small amount every week adds up over the years....will have to stop when they reach 18 I think as there will be 9 of them by the end of the year! Point I'm making is that there is so much satisfaction in being able to help your children/grandchildren when they need help.
Roast chicken dinner now ready....have a good weekend everybody

Speky your Granny sounds like a lovely lady who is more than happy to help out,as most Grannies are.
I have helped three of my eldest grandchildren get through Uni and am now on my forth DGS Ben who gets an allowance from me every 1st of the month. Just as he will finish in 18 months time, the fifth DGS Jack will be starting his Uni course. Then a year later hopefully his next brother down Henry. Then if I'm still around in about 7 years time the last one Mikey will get his bit per month if he decided to go onto further education. I don't mind, as to me its only money that will go to them eventually, and they need it now to help them get through a lean time at Uni.
I know I shall never be cold or hungry or lonely and I feel blessed that I have such bright caring grandchildren who have the inclination to get on in life.Your Grandma is doing her best to give you what she probably never had the opportunity for from her parents.
Much is written about the youngsters of today, and a lot of it is so unfair as given the chance I think most kids want to do well, get on and make their parents proud. You will always remember you Granny helping you out, and its no doubt given her much pleasure to do so. Well done to a very nice lady who is giving you a leg up, she no doubt is very proud of the young man you have grown up to be.
Cakes were delicious at History club plus a great couple of hours about Rudyard Kipling, next week its Nye Bevan, should be an interesting afternoon
Off to bed now ,hopefully I will get a better sleep tonight
Cheers chums
