Pixi foto sitting and photo frames

Evening all,

Had a sitting for the kids at pixi foto digital studio today sucked in totally and hubby parted with £180 for photos :eek: :eek: :eek: not very MSE I know!

Anyhow a couple of the photos seem to be odd sizes 20" x 20" and 20" x 10"

have been looking on the net for frames but struggling to find anything what we really like are those glass ones with chrome bits to attach to the wall anyone know where we could get anything like this or is that another rip off scheme by pixifoto theirs are £20 per frame regardless of size and the ones they showed me are all dark wood trimmed would not go very well in my lounge?

Anyone with any info I would be most grateful

I just buy a bigger cheapish but nice frame and fill in the gaps with a cut out white paper border.

As long as you rule and measure carefully and don't have a shaky hand it looks quite professional.

Also means you don't have to cut the actual picture to fit a frame.

we done the same earlier in the year ,and it sounds like you got a similar package to us,we just looked in the yellow pages and found a local picture framer and it cost us £60 for three large picture to be framed.We just went and chose what we wanted ,left the pictures over night then collected them the next day,i was really pleased with the end result

Hi all, On saturday, I have to go to wooly's to choose my photos from a pixifoto session we had a few weeks ago.
They have already said we can buy a £160 package which is (7 photos of each size 7x5,10x8,6x4 etc), but I wanted to know the "single" prices before I go, so i can plan/budget before being bamboozled instore. £160 is a lot of money and you do get lots, but that might be too much for us.

any info appreciated

I have had most of dd's pics from pixiefoto- always seemed to be good photies- i always had all the pics (couldnt resist!) But none of the packages had ever cost me more than 80 pounds, and that was having every size and every pose also. Just had dd's pics back from nursery & they were lovely & a great bargain at just 24 pounds!

I dont suppose you remember any other prices / packages, they never mentioned that £80 package. Just the £160 one.

i was told i could get 7 sets which in total have 42 pics in for £145 which is way out my budget but i know if i see them i know i will pay it out of the 7 sets i think i want only 4 of the sets do u know how much each set costs on their own?

When I have the packages with photos of my two from school or nursery, I get frames from Wilkinsons, and if they're an odd size (7" x 10" was one I think) then I buy a cardboard mount from Wilkinson to fit inside the frame. In fact I think they look nicer inside the mounts in the frame than with just the frame. I'm waiting for a pack to come through of DS that he had taken at nursery last week. I'm not sure if it's the company the school or the nursery use that do this, but one of them now does a package without the cardboard frames they normally come with and it's half the price - much better when all I do is throw the frames out anyway.

Can you buy the Jpegs from them?

DS1 had a photographer come into school on an evening to do family photos just before Christmas. He took an AMAZING photo of the four of us but it was going to cost £74 for the canvas!! So I bought the jpeg off him for £20 and sent it to Snapfish, who were doing 1/2 price canvas', I had a code and got the whole lot for £45.

Not bad eh.

you have to buy a package of a school pack for £13-95 and then you can buy the cd for £65-00 so in total £78-95!!! bit much maybe???? What do ppl think??

I got a 24x24 frame for my 20x20 print in Wilkisons for £20.00.

Still couldn't find a suitable one for the 20x10 though!
