  • Raw bones are fine, mine eat chicken wings and pig trotters all the time. It is only cooked bones that can splinter and chocke a dog

    I'd suggest you don't give the dog lamb/mutton bones, as they often splinter.
    Beef shin bones should be fine, and delicious. However, given the various bits of advice from previous posters - why not have a quick word with a nurse at your vetinary practice?

    Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
    used to give our old dog marrow bones raw no probs. Also used to hold the bone whilst he ate it - got him used to 'sharing' his food, and not getting nasty when with his bone and others...
