What to do, Tree Sap Problem??
New used white car (Had under a week) & Tree Sap...
In my road (Permit Street Parking) left had side is under trees (Usually spaces left) Right hand side there is usually no spaces left (Under no trees) road to left (small road & turns into 2 small Cul-De-Sacks) about 4/5 spaces (Usually gone) Further down my road on left had side (Going up Road) Some spaces left (But not many at end of day) and road to the left going down (Usually loads of space)
What is my best plan?? I want to park my car near my house not to far away but don't wanna clean it every week (Will cost to much) and not get tree sap on it..
Is Tree Sap bad for the paint work?

How is washing your car gonna cost too much ? Even on a water metre a bucket or two of water is not going to break the bank
If it is, go buy a cover for your car0 -
Tree sap may need more than just water to remove it."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I usually go to my local car wash very good £6 outside £12 inside & out
so should I just park my car where there are no trees?? even if it means away from the house?0 -
You have a few choices
Park away from the tress and walk ( road tax doesn't give you the right to a parking space)
Park under the trees and suck up the cost of washing the car
Park under the trees and wash the car yourself
Park under the trees and buy a car cover
Simples
Unless of course you expect the council to cut down the trees so you can park?0 -
This is simple - park where there are no trees.
Some tree sap cannot be removed without a professional re-polishing/treatment.0 -
I bet the trees by the OP are Lime trees. They line the road I live on. I get the sticky honeydew (it isn't actually sap) on my car from them. I washes off easily with soapy water in my experience. If it has been left on a car for a while a bit of scrubbing with a sponge might be required as well as a bit of a soak.0

Is this the white polo gti?
Did you buy it? nice car“People are caught up in an egotistic artificial rat race to display a false image to society. We want the biggest house, fanciest car, and we don't mind paying the sky high mortgage to put up that show. We sacrifice our biggest assets our health and time, We feel happy when we see people look up to us and see how successful we are”

Use a few coats of Carnauba wax on the roof and bonnet, or the whole car and see if the wax comes off any easier.
You may just need to clean it more often.0 -

Cut down the trees?
Park elsewhere?
Put a cover over the car?
Learn to live with the sap?
Sell the car?
Move elsewhere?
Give the car a throrough coat of wax, and wash it regularly.0 -

BIB I'd like that option, but unfortunately the Plane tree that overhangs my drive and deposits its sap on my car is owned by the council. The council not only won't pay to have my car cleaned they even want to charge me to take away the leaves that fall off their tree onto my property, cheeky burgers.:D
Anyway, a little tip that works with the type of sap that the aforementioned tree produces. Alcohol based hand sanitiser works just as well as the proprietary sap and tar removers and is half the price.:money:0
