£ 154.40 - Policy Expert
£ 198.50 - Fresh
£ 216.55 - Kwik Fit
£ 216.58 - Budget
£ 222.63 - Dial Direct
£ 237.96 - Quoteonlinedirect
£ 246.45 - Right Choice
£ 258.78 - Performance Direct
£ 278.35 - Get Cover
£ 279.74 - One Call
£ 280.37 - Halifax
£ 331.22 - More Than
£ 350.61 - Bank of Scotland
£ 363.96 - Admiral
£ 365.54 - Lloyds Bank
£ 378.94 - Admiral Gold
£ 385.43 - Magnet

£ 422.84 - Admiral Platium
£ 429.76 - Barclays
£ 434.61 - Prudetial

Out of the cheapest the only one well known is Kwik Fit, but would anyone consider the cheapest Policy Expert or Fresh?
Any other opinions?
Thanks.

There are very few actual insurers on that list. I wouldn't go for anything under £300 out of them.0

Policy Expert is OK from what I've seen (full disclosure, we're on their panel, but I think we're on the panel of half the list). They have reasonable charges as well (£25 cancellation, amendments free) but as a broker these will be in addition to any insurer charges.
As rs65 says, most of those companies are brokers - in terms of claims experience, you'll be at the mercy of the actual underwriter, most of which are fine although I'd steer clear of any which are registered abroad.0 -
Agree, go with an actual insurer. However, please for the sake of your sanity and potential claims do not choose esure.
Also some companies use Cunningham Lindsey to handle their claims and they are utterly incompetent and will lie and misinform customers while adding unacceptable delays. It's about more than the price, you hope you'll never have to claim but if you do you want it be as painless as possible.
I would urge everyone to completely avoid esure until they act like they deserve customers - plenty of woeful reviews of them online.0 -
That's an interesting list, with a good spread of prices. I agree with previous posts that most are Brokers, and like TSx I work for a company which underwrites most of these Brokers (but not PE - so we aren't the same company!).
Personally I don't think there is much wrong with the Budget policy, you can choose your single article limit in the home, and cover is mid range.
If you want to compare value for money, look at Defaqto. This will rate all the products by star rating 1* - 5*, 5* being best.0
