Cheapest way to do expensive Disney hotel?

Hello, I'm looking to go to Disney world Florida and stay in one of the resorts on the monorail loop (I can only spend a limited time in the park due to illness so need to stay near by).

That gives me the option of Contemporary, grand Floridian or Polynesian.

I can be flexible when we go (but thinking September), no kids. Going for 2 weeks

I know they are the most expensive hotels, most of the info I can find about how to do Disney the cheapest ways involve the cheap resorts or staying off site. We have a budget that is bigger than that but don't want to pay over the odds and no doubt there's more than one company you can book through.

Will also need flights obviously but no car rental.

Also does anyone know if any airlines offer reclining seats for premium rather than business? Business costs are going to eat up nearly all our budget but my disability means I can't sit up for 10 hours (I use a reclining wheelchair)

    Check out this link http://www.mousesavers.com/walt-disney-world-vacation-discounts-and-deals/disney-world-area-hotel-discounts/

Also check out The Dibb boards for more useful information. If you ask the question there you will get answers from people who really know their stuff.

Also, I wouldn't book a package I would do it direct with the hotels.

you might find your hotel cheaper by renting DVC points also -

again the Dibb is the place to find out :) -

  • I understand the appeal of being onthe monorail loop, but the bus transport is just as comfortable for those with disabilities. Might be worth considering the lower cost resort hotels or even off-site.

If it about convenience - have a look at the Swan and Dolphin. They are not opperated by Disney (sometimes cheaper) and have a ferry to Epcot. It may also work out cheaper to get a hotel further from the parks and Uber/ taxi to your park (just don't forget to account for this cost when booking)

Whilst PE seats will recline (about 6") no airline flying to Orlando has lay-flat seats in PE. You need to book Club World or Upper Class for this.

Someone has asked the question on the Air Travel forum of Trip Advisor which is very similar and various replies already given there.

I am a member of the Disney Vacation Club. I havent been for a while as been poorly so I have banked my points. I own at SSR, BWV and BCV with almost 300 points. Ive stayed in almost every Disney hotel including the monorail resorts -but would recommend the Yacht and Beach club. Its between Hollywood Studios and Epcot. You can walk to both -its a fantastic hotel in a fantastic location. The hotel is a delux and has its own waterpark called Stormalong Bay, which is fabulous. Opposite the lake is the Boardwalk which is great for entertainment and eating. Renting DVC points ( from one of the established renters ) gets you cheaper accommodation.
