Bathroom sanitary ware and accessories

Hi Group members,
I am having major problems ordering my bathroom sanitary ware. There are so many options that I am going mental over them. I zeroed that I need to buy DURAVIT as it has good reputation and good ceramic. But CP HART is charging me extortionate amount of money. All other bathroom stores are also charging super duper prices. Bathstore is the only store realisitically I can afford but even they are much higher than internet based companies.

Any advice on a trusted online retailer I can buy from. Of course it is impossible to buy everything in one go. Therefore, any chance I can get someone to advice me for each bathroom what I need?

I will really appreciate your help. I have spent my entire week looking at these bathroom stores and come back empty handed as I dont' have that kind of money to spend.

Just to give you an idea CP HART has given me a Quote of £8000 for a bathroom 2 x 1m in size.

You could try looking at somewhere like Plumbase : http://www.plumbase.co.uk/


They're a plumber's merchant rather than a bathroom specialist, and probably have a fairly limited range, but may be worth a look ?

If you choose to go to designer showrooms, and to expensive retail outlets you will pay a lot of money. This is a simple fat of life, no different to choosing to shop at Harrods.

An alternative is to seek a Plan B. If I were buying your Duravit I would be going to the builders merchant near me, and negotiating hard. I know they are a Duravit dealer but I suspect there are are other local builders merchants who will undercut that one

Your retailer location suggests you are in a populated part of the UK so there should be numerous sources available to purchase from.

If you wish to be taken seriously then consider opening an account at a builders merchant, or negotiating along these lines.

At least, nowadays, you don't have to think about colour choice, as it's white or white.


Of course more unusual ware will cost more, but another thing to bear in mind is that designs have a limited lifespan and in a few years time it may not be possible to obtain spares (eg toilet seat for a non-standard pan shape).

Have you gone to CP Hart with a list of products or for a design and supply soolution?

The prices you get will be quite different.

But white is so boring. Fashion goes full circle so colours will come back in - indeed they are still available, or were when I was patching a suite a couple of years ago.

CP Hart are selling black sanitaryware.

Gold taps are only just around the corner. Just the 'spensive places pushing them at the moment.

Duravit is well priced when compared to ideal standard. Your buying a premium product and not run of the mill shed rubbish. Bathstore should b seen as one of the low end mass market products.

Have you looked at Roca , Roper Rhodes, Twyfords?

Colours won't come back into fashion, the public I deal with don't want it . In 500+ jobs I've never been asked for it . Show me new stock in colours and not stuff that's been sitting on the shelf for 10yrs

Black is freely available but does show surface scratches and water marks. I'd personally avoid.

Gold taps, even premium items from Leefroy Brooke's or similar come with a 1yrs warranty on finish , it's not a durable finish
