Asda

I went to the local ASDA today for a few items etc. I promptly made my way to the self service belt. As I was about to put the items on the belt an assistant said that is for cards only you need the next one for cash. I looked at her in amazement as to suggest I would not be deemed to have cards.

Perhaps they had a couple of people use that checkout before you who didn't have cards & they had to spend time cancelling the transaction & were just letting you know that one didnt take cash...

I don't think that was the suggestion at all, as others have said sounds like she was trying to save you time putting through your items if you then needed to pay by cash

Crikey some poor retail people can't do right for wrong glad I got out of that game

I'm another one that thought the sales assistant was just trying to be helpful.

Maybe she looked at your 'few items' and thought you'd be paying cash so was trying to save you some time.
  • I can't even work out WHY it would be deemed a bad thing that someone assumed you didn't have cards...

Cash and cards are barely any different. Why are you so affronted you feel the cashier assumed you didn't have a card....
