Sometimes devices have issues specific to those particular devices. Not quite the same, and a long time ago, but ...
I used to have* a Dragon 32 computer and a portable TV. The screen was supposed to have black text on a green background. My Dragon connected to my TV gave black text on an orange background. My Dragon on another TV gave green; another Dragon on my TV gave green. It was just the unique combination of my Dragon and TV that did this.
* I've actually still got it. (Not that portable TV though)
