Macerator for Washing Macine

The macerator that we have in the cellar for the washing machine is making a grinding noise. I suspect it is due to something blocking it.
Can anyone recommend a new macerator for us? Should we necessarily go for a Saniflo?

Why does a washing machine need a macerator???"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

It is in the cellar and this does the job.

I wonder about that ,too, as a macerator's function is to break 'waste products' into smaller pieces.0 -

Sure it's not just a pump and not a macerator?Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

You can just replace it with a pump - probably cost a fraction of the price of a replacement macerator.0
