HSBC currency account debit card?

Hello

I've had a HSBC currency account for a while now (Euro)

And never had a debit card with it, i was always under the impression you get given a debit card so you can make purchases abroad no?

or is it just a savings type of an account?

As it doesn't list debit card anywhere on the site.
HSBC (Main A/C)
Halifax Back up A/C
Lloyds (Spending) A/C

HSBC UK don't give a debit card with their euro or dollar accounts, nor do other British banks as far as I'm aware, except for those in Jersey etc. HSBC in places like Singapore, Hong Kong give a debit card with a euro account, although that may only be available to Premier customers.

A euro account with no card, no interest and with costs associated with obtaining your money is of very limited use. I Use Revolut instead.

Did you not ask about debit cards when you opened the account?

I applied for an HSBC currency account (EUR) about 3 weeks ago, it was opened this week. I've heard of people waiting over a month though.

I got a letter through the post with my IBAN and Swift/BIC (which is MIDLGB22 for ALL HSBC UK accounts) a few days after it appeared on my internet banking.

    Hope it helps
