Need to buy a used car. Typical prices?
Hi.
It's some years since I bought our current car and I remember being able to get little booklets (Glasses Guide?) that gave advice on typical prices for various ages, states, mileage etc. I can't seem to find these in the shops now - do they exist?
I've seen sites like Parkers, Glass, Honest John but on first look can't find typical prices - are they there and I just haven't found them yet? They seem to show reviews and sales. Perhaps it's just me.
Any advice welcome. Ta.

Not sure but to find out the market value of secondhand cars I would use current marketed vehicles on Autotrader and Ebay and sold items on ebay.0

Yes, they are there. For example :
Parkers : http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/prices/
Another one that's quite good :
http://www.wisebuyers.co.uk/motoring/used-car-prices/
But all of these sites are only a very rough guide - as foxy-stoat says, a trawl through the likes of Autotrader etc. will probably give you a more accurate estimate of the going rates.0 -
Cheers. I see that you can order a paper copy of the Parkers guide on-line only if you buy a subscription. Must try different shops.
Thanks.0 -
W H Smith definitely stock Parker's, was browsing it in there last week. There is a possibility that shop(s) you visited had sold out and the next issue was due in shortly.
Glass's Guide used to be trade only in hard copy, never sold in shops. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
