Lamb Stew?

I've forgotten what cut of lamb my Mum used for lamb stew.
It was small roundish pieces - probably 3 - 4 inches in diameter with a small bone in the middle.
Two or three years ago the butcher who does a round here got me some.
Can anyone help with what it's called please. I've looked at pics of best end of neck and scrag end of neck but they don't seem to look right but they both ring a bell lol.

I think it is neck of lamb..

When I've made it I allow it to go cold, skim off any solidified fat and reheat. Used to be a very cheap cut and very popular in my student days!

I'm voting neck too! There are three cuts: scrag, middle and best end (chops). Used to be cheap until telly chefs made it trendy lol. A local butcher can help you out.2022 | Back to the fold - need a Money Saving mojo reboot!

What you need is indeed neck of lamb. Put lamb, potatoes, swede, parsnip, onion, carrots and celery in a casserole. Cover with stock, real or stock cube. I put mine on the hob for hours at a really low light. Take out bones when meat is falling off it.
My kids love it!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

We have neck of lamb stew but we also put breast pieces in as well, l like breast of lamb but my Wife doesn't. Breast and neck as well as oxtail used to be a cheap meal but unfortunately not any longer. We also bang it all in to the slow cooker then let it cool and take off the congealed fat, reheating it with potatoes, carrots and onions.0
