problem when trying to put email address in .... the "@" doesn't work ... when pressing that " @ / ' " key .. first time nothing happens ..press again and it does two sets of astericks ""

Seem to recall reading ages ago that maybe set up for wrong country ? ...

So install the corresponding keyboard layout.

Finish the setup first and don't change the keyboard until you've completed setup. Some installs go funny if you try and swap keyboard languages.

As the other have said. In the backwards keyboard... eh US keyboard the inverted coma and "at" symbol are swapped round.

Is this in Windows 10? It's affected me twice now, although the second time I knew what it was and it was easy to fix.

Control panel | Clock, Language and Region | Language

I'm guessing it will show English (United States), you need to Add a language to include English (United Kingdom), which may need to be downloaded. I would suggest that you then delete the US version. I think you will need to restart your computer.

thanks all .. sorted the keyboard problem .... needed to delete the "america keyboard" .


Got everything set up & transferred from previous laptop.... only problem now ....

trying to do a "windows update" .... the green & blue bar is moving on the "checking for updates" ...

but is still checking half an hour later .... ?????
