Get £50 From Lloyds Tsb If You Recommend A Friend

I have a Lloyds account but my wife did not.
Whilst at the branch a few weeks ago, I saw a leaflet explaining I could get £50 by recommending a new customer to a certain type of account. Also the new account holder would qualify for another £50. So that's £100 in total.
A friend who works at the branch explained that to qualify, £500 or more must be paid into the account each month, and the £50 will be paid after the first month. She explained that their system is set to issue an auto prompt if the £500 doesn't go in each month for the first 3 months. Thereafter, no checks are made. (In reality you could probably close the account anyway - there was nothing in the T&Cs to say you had to keep the account open for any length of time)
So I have moved £500 into my wifes account from my own Lloyds account. Waited until the £50 was credited to both accounts, then moved the £500 back to my own account. A month later moved the £500 back to her account, waited a few days and moved it back to mine and so on. So far so good - no calls from any Lloyds customer service operator.
So to cut a long story short, we both received our free £50.

Does anyone know if the the referree can recommend two or more new accounts - it does not say otherwise in the leaflet - just says 'one payment per new customer', AFAIAA
Thanks
[Has this one not been in one of Martin's tips already? I must have been asleep?].....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
I think you can recommend as many as you like, as long as it is not the same person.

It is worth reading 'free £50 without putting salary?' thread.0

Yes! you can get the £50 paid more than once - my second payment arrived in my account yesterday. [yippee].....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
There is a thread Referrers boardwhere those without an existing Lloyds/TSB account can help themselves and other site members to £50.
But the idea of 2 people in the same family helping each other appeals to me, trouble is all my family are already TSB account holders. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

I opened an account with Lloyds, deposited 1000 pounds with them, the terms say that within 31 days of this they will put in a 50 pound bonus, didnt get it, rang and they refused to award the 50 pound as I hadnt moved my wages to the account, but the terms didnt ask for this, I might have used the bank account but now I'll just close it. Very misleading(dishonest) promotion.
Anyone else had the same experience?Aha, so thats how you do a signature!0 -
I have merged your thread with this one, it would seem as if you might be correct & should pursue for the free gift which failed to materialise.0

When did you open the account?
If it has been in the last 2 months I believe that a transfer of salary was mandatory as explained in their leaflet.Could it be that you had out of date details?

It was about 2 months ago that I opened the account, I read the terms carefully and it definitely didnt say I had to transfer my wagesAha, so thats how you do a signature!0
